Stump Grinding
Stump Grinding is the process of removing a tree stump by using a specialist machine that grinds the stump into small chippings, these chippings will then be used to back fill the hole. Where possible we would recommend leaving a tree stump as it can form a great habitat for wildlife. However, if you are looking to re-plant, clear or turf the area then you will need to have the stump removed. A site inspection will be required but rest assured we can access a variety of areas in order to complete these works.

How Stump Grinding Works
Our stump grinder cuts the stump and its main roots down below ground level, leaving a fine mix of wood chippings and soil. The chippings are used to backfill the hole, or they can be removed if you are planning to turf or replant the area.
Stump grinding is usually quicker, cleaner and far less disruptive than digging a stump out. It also stops the stump from sending up new shoots and removes a trip hazard from lawns and paths.
We can carry out stump grinding on its own or as part of tree felling and removal work. A site visit lets us check access, the size of the stump and any nearby services before we quote.
